Thursday night the Trojans played their third consecutive away game to start the season as they faced Chartiers Valley in Mt. Lebanon. The Colts got on the board early in the first period converting on a power play opportunity. That goal would stand as the only score in the game until Conall Quish (Jr.) scored on a Trojan’s power play with 6:44 remaining in the third period. Quinten Shaffer (Sr.) and Jonathan Felouzis (Sr.) assisted on Quish’s lone goal. The game would remain scoreless through the remainder of the third and the overtime period. In the shootout, Evan Robbins (Jr.) and Shaffer both scored for the Trojans while goaltender Shane Hornish (Jr.) closed the door on the Colts to secure the victory. Hornish stopped 28 of 29 on the night.
The Trojans have their home opener on Tuesday, November 24, when they welcome Blackhawk to the UPMC Lemiuex Sports Complex for a 9:10pm puck drop. You can watch all of the night’s action on the NC Sports Network.
