Monaca, PA – The North Catholic Trojans (3-4) were on the road last week as they faced the Central Valley Warriors (3-4). The Trojans were coming off a loss to Imani Christian Academy 48-28 after struggling to maintain the Saints rushing game. The Warriors fell to Avonworth in a tight game 21-14, which was one of the few low scoring games of Week 6 in the WPIAL. With Junior QB Joey Felitsky back from injury, North Catholic looked to bounce back and add to the win column.
The Game – QB
Joey Felitsky completed 33 of 47 passes in his return for 381 yards and 3 touchdowns. One of those touchdowns was a 49-yard pass completion to Junior RB
Logan Schade, while another was a 21-yard pass to Junior WR
Ryker Kennedy. Kennedy would have 15 receptions for 139 yards and 1 touchdown. Junior WR
Tom Arth had 4 receptions for 98 yards and 1 touchdown. On defense, Senior DE
Brady O'Hara posted 5.5 tackles and Junior LB Dom McNelly had 3.5 tackles. This wouldn't be enough for the Trojans as Central Valley RB Mason Dixon rushed for 284 yards on 25 carries. Dixon had 4 touchdowns on runs of 10, 2, 50, and 27 yards. QB Steven Rutherford connected with WR Kole Hiltz for a 15-yard touchdown that sealed victory for the Warriors, 46-38.
It has been a reoccurring theme for the Trojans their past two games, struggling to defend their opponent's rushing offense. They moved to 2-1 in conference play and 3-4 overall. North Catholic's next game is this Friday at Lt. J.C. Stone Field for homecoming week against Beaver at 7:00pm.
