Wexford, PA – The North Catholic Trojans played their final game of the regular season Friday, November 25, at home against the Hopewell Vikings. With a convincing win, the Trojans would have the opportunity to clinch the final wildcard spot in the WPIAL 3A playoff bracket. The Avonworth Antelopes handed North Catholic a loss in the previous game 48-28. The Lopes scored 35 points in the first half, leaving the Trojans scoreless. A second effort earned the team 28 points in the 2nd half but would not be enough for victory. Trojans' Junior QB Joey Felitsky threw for 275 yards and 3 touchdowns, two of which were 56 and 34-yard passes to Senior WR Jack White. Lopes' Dimitri Velisaris rushed for 59 yards on 10 carries and had two of Avonworth's 5 touchdowns in the 1st half.

Tom Arth had 4 of the Trojan's 8 touchdowns. Junior WR
Ryker Kennedy had 122 receiving yards on 7 catches and had an interception. For the Vikings, James Armstrong threw for 197 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed for 205 yards and 5 touchdowns. The Trojan's dominance offensively would snap their 4-game losing streak and earn them the win 55-43. The team snagged the last wildcard spot in the WPIAL playoffs.
Finishing fourth in the 3A Western Hills Conference, North Catholic (4-6, 3-3) with play the Deer Lakes Lancers (8-2, 5-1) who finished second in the Allegheny 7 Conference. The Lancers won their most recent game against Burrell 56-0. This playoff match up will take place Friday, November 1st at Deer Lakes High School at 7:00pm. The winner will play Elizabeth Forward (7-3, 5-1) on November 8th.
