Allegheny County, PA – The North Catholic Trojans now had their sights on the postseason as they were set to face the #6 seed Deer Lake Lancers. With being the #11th seed, the Trojans were the underdogs in the 3A Western Hills Conference, but the team looked to prove everyone wrong by carrying momentum from their big win against Hopewell to end the regular season 55-43. Junior QB Joey Felitsky threw for 372 yards and 3 touchdowns. North Catholic had 541 total yards on offense highlighted by Senior WR Jack White, Junior WR Ryker Kennedy, and Junior WR Tom Arth.
The Game – The Trojans came out flying, catching Deer Lakes off guard by striking first with Junior RB
Logan Schade's 27-yard rushing touchdown. This gave North Catholic an early lead 6-0 in the first quarter. The Lancers answered back to take the lead 7-6, but then notched another touchdown on a North Catholic fumble to pull ahead 14-6. RB

Tom Arth with a 10-yard pass on 3
rd and 7 for the deciding touchdown. North Catholic pulled away with a 21-14 victory in a hard-fought battle advancing to the WPIAL 3A quarterfinals. Felitsky completed 24 of 37 passes for 247 yards and 1 touchdown.
Tom Arth had 7 receptions for 63 yards and 1 touchdown.

The Trojans will face the Elizabeth Forward Warriors in the quarterfinals this Friday at 7:00pm. This will only be the 5th meeting between both teams, with the Trojans leading the series 3-1. Being the Interstate Conference champions, the Warriors earned the #3 seed and a first-round bye. They ended the regular season with a crushing win against Mt. Pleasant 56-26.
