Saxonburg, PA – The North Catholic Trojans were on the road again facing the Knoch Knights this past Friday. Heading into this game, North Catholic was 0-1 dropping their season opener to Seton LaSalle 23-12. Junior QB Joey Felitsky made his debut throwing for 242 yards completing 19/34 attempts. Knoch also lost their first game of the season to Kiski Area 42-7. Colt Sprankle, QB transfer from Armstrong, threw for 230 yards and had two interceptions. Both teams did not meet last season, so Friday's game was a fresh start. 




The Game: 

1st Quarter – North Catholic started with possession on their own 39-yard line. Joey Felitsky found Sophomore WR Will Waskiewicz with a an 8-yard pass moving the Trojans to the 31-yard line. A few minutes later, Felitsky threw a 24-yard pass to Senior WR Jack White setting up position for a field goal, taking an early lead 3-0. Knoch answered back with a long running play from WR Sam Skurka for 41 yards. This led to a 28-yard rushing touchdown by Colt Sprankle and a made PAT. With four minutes remaining, the Knights led 7-3, but North Catholic unable to generate from Knoch's 33-yard line ended the 1st. 

2nd Quarter – Exchanging possession, Knights WR Codi Mullen took the ball with a long run to North Catholic's 16-yard line. Mullen finished with a 2-yard rushing touchdown expanding their lead 14-3. The Trojans had the ball on their own 34-yard line, and Felitsky made a quick pass to Senior TE Joe Safar gaining 2 yards. With storms rolling in, the game was delayed for an hour before play started back up. Right after the break, a 5-yard rushing touchdown from Joey Felitsky made it 14-10. Just as North Catholic came close, QB Colt Sprankle completed an 80-yard pass to Codi Mullen for another touchdown. With a good PAT, Knoch pulled ahead 21-10 heading into halftime. 

3rd Quarter – With eight minutes to go, North Catholic had the ball on Knoch's 46-yard line. Felitsky ran the ball for 18 yards, but then threw an interception leaving the Knights on the 28-yard line. Codi Mullen with a 4-yard rushing touchdown for the Knights extended their lead 28-10 making it his 3rd of the game. North Catholic made another push back with Felitsky completing a 26-yard pass to Junior WR Tom Arth for a touchdown. With a good PAT, the Trojans came back on the board, 28-17. 

4th Quarter – Knoch began with a long pass from Colt Sprankle to TE Kaden Spencer placing them on their own 10-yard line. Then, Sprankle made another 80-yard pass to Spencer, but the Knights turned over possession on a missed field goal leaving the door wide open for North Catholic. The Trojans however were unable to convert, which sealed victory for the Knights, 28-17. 

Still in search for their first win, North Catholic will have the opportunity to do it this Friday away against Blackhawk (1-1) at 7:00pm.
