North Catholic High School

Amanda Fetter

Coach Fetter is entering her fifth season coaching Girls Volleyball at North Catholic. We asked her a few questions about herself, along with why she coaches at North Catholic.

Athletic Background:
“I played High School Volleyball at Ambridge High School and club for a local club that at the time was called Adidas Penn Juniors. In college I played at Campbell University for 2 seasons and 2 seasons at Coastal Carolina University after transferring.”

“I got involved in coaching because I love the sport of volleyball. I grew up in the gym with my mom who was a coach, and the game has always been such a big part of my life. I thought that it was important that I share my love of the sport through coaching.”

What do you enjoy most about coaching at North?
“I love the atmosphere and the kids that we get to work with. They are not only gifted athletes, but they are wonderful people.”

Before taking the lead role at North Catholic, Fetter was drawing up plays at Pine Richland:
“I have coached club both in South Carolina and in PA. I was an assistant coach at Pine Richland High School for 4 years and the head coach for 5 seasons, before joining the north catholic family in 2018, as the head coach.”

Some interesting facts about Fetter would include:
-Her superstition on game day is to pray in the locker room.
-Her favorite T.V. show is “New Girl” or “White Collar”.

The most valuable advice she has been given was:
“The best piece of advice that I have ever received (or I guess I should say learned by example) would be from my brother Tom Pfeifer. He has always been a shining example of what is good in this world. He has taught me more than I could ever put into words, but my favorite lesson has always been that it is never a bad idea to dance if you feel like it or sing at the top of your lungs if it feels right. You will always feel so much better after.”
