Tim Souders will be taking over as the new Head coach for the Boys and Girls cross country team in the 2022-23 season. Here’s a preview on a few things about him!

Athletic Background:
“I ran cross country and track at Boyertown Area High School (PIAA District I) in the late 80's and early 90's and then at the collegiate level at Robert Morris University from 1990-94. Since college, I have dabbled in road races from 5K to the marathon and still compete in some master's track meets.”

Before taking his position at North Catholic, Souders was recently leading at Pine Richland:
“For the last four years prior to coming to NC, I served as Pine-Richland's middle school head cross country coach and assistant varsity track coach. In 2021, the boy’s cross-country team won the inaugural PA Middle School State Championship in Lock Haven, PA, and the girl's team was runner-up. That same year, PR became the only visiting school to ever sweep both the boy's and girl's titles in the 18-year history of the North Allegheny Invitational. PR also joined NA as the only schools to ever sweep both the boy's and girl's titles at the SRU Bill Lennox Invitational. I got involved in coaching because a friend asked me to join the coaching staff since he knew how passionate I was about running and how closely I followed the sport. I always talked about coaching, but I wasn't sure if I could do it earlier in my career given my profession.”

Some interesting facts about Coach Souders would include:
-His superstition before every game is to eat a Jersey Mikes sub.
-He is employed as a credit officer in a large regional bank in Downtown Pittsburgh.
-His favorite show is “Billions”.

One thing that Souders enjoys about coaching would be:
“Helping student-athletes accomplish great things, which they may not have even thought possible; witnessing the personal growth in student-athletes from the beginning to the end of the season regardless of ability level.”
