Track and Field

MECHANICSBURG, PA – On the track of Seth Grove Stadium at Shippensburg University, the 100th running of the PIAA Track and Field Championships brought together over 3,000 athletes.  The Trojanettes track team delivered a strong showing on the state's biggest stage, claiming a fourth-place team finish with 29 points.

Highlighting the day was North Catholic's commanding victory in the Class 2A 400-meter relay. The squad of Audra Lazzara, Seava Cresta, Daphne Flerl, and Anna Lazzara crossed the finish line in 48.06 seconds, edging out Annville-Cleona and Lewisburg in a thrilling sprint showdown. Their performance marked one of the top moments of the championship meet.

Senior standout Audra Lazzara doubled down on her performance with a silver medal finish in the 100-meter hurdles, clocking in at 15.10 seconds behind Sharon's Ondrea Young (14.56). Lazzara's consistency and leadership were key components of the Trojanettes' team success, and her role in both the relay and hurdles underscored her versatility.

In the long jump, the Trojanettes added critical points thanks to Anna Lazzara, who leapt 18 feet, 0.25 inches to secure a bronze medal. Her jump tied for third with Alexis Bansah of Winchester Thurston, with the mark ultimately giving NC the edge via a tiebreak.

The 4x400-meter relay team of Daphne Flerl, Seava Cresta, Ella Eiler, and Alexa Stoltz placed fourth with a time of 4:02.27, finishing just behind Central Cambria, Lewisburg Area, and Hughesville.

Despite competing against deep and talented fields, the Trojanettes rose to the occasion, capturing medals and state-wide recognition. Their efforts contributed to a fourth-place overall finish in the 2A girls' team standings, trailing only Quaker Valley (54), Lewisburg (47), and Laurel (31).
