The Trojans were able to hold off a late rally to record an 18-17 win against Blackhawk Friday at J.C. Stone Field in North Park.
The  #2 ranked Trojans in Class 3A, opened the scoring with a 15-yard interception return by Mitch Lanthaler in the second quarter but would miss tacking on the extra point. The Cougars would manage to take the lead before the half and lead 7-6.
In the second half, the Trojans took the lead back on a 40-yard pass from Jason Siket to Kyle Tipinski and a blocked punt recovery in the end zone by Lucius Marbella.
With 0:02 on the clock in the fourth, the Cougars had a chance to steal the win on a field goal attempt but the try was no good. Â
Up next for the Trojans is a trip to Valley High School for a conference match-up on Friday, September 17. Kickoff is schedule for 7:00pm. Â
