Danny is a senior football player at North Catholic. He has played a key role in his teams success. We asked Danny a few questions about his time as a North Catholic student-athlete.
Sports played at North Catholic? What positions did you play?
I play football at North Catholic as a linebacker and running back.
List any personal or team athletic records, awards or achievements earned while playing at North Catholic.
I lettered Sophomore and Junior year. I also made First Team All-Conference Outside Linebacker Junior Year
What has been your favorite moment as a North Catholic Student-Athlete?
Playing at Heinz Field (Acrisure Stadium) sophomore year in WPIAL Championship.
How has being a NC Student-Athlete benefited you?
Being a student-athlete has given me a structure for my school year. My freshman and sophomore years sports helped me meet new people much easier. It allowed me to be more on top of my schoolwork because I didn't want to get put on academic probation.
What has been your most meaningful moment at NC outside of athletics?
Probably everyone helping me and being there for me after I broke my leg. All my teachers were very understanding, and my classmates always helped me out getting to class and helped me get my mind off the situation.
Do you have any game day superstitions or routines?
I eat bananas and I drink pickle juice before my games and at halftime to prevent cramps. Every game I have not done that I have cramped.
What will you miss most about your time as a student-athlete at NC?
I'll miss team meals and bus rides with my teammates.
What advice would you give younger athletes about their time at NC?
Enjoy every practice and game that you have, even when it sucks, because you never know when it could be your last play.
What are your plans after graduation?
I am not sure yet. I may want to continue to play football in college, but I won't know until the end of the season.
