Craberry Twp, PA - The girl's cross-country team has been having an exceptional season with an overall record of 9-0. Competing in the Youthtowne Clash, the Trojaettes were able to defend their title. The girls have been led this year by junior
Madeline Meeuf who recently posted a personal best in the 5k with a time of 18:43. This was the second fastest time in school history for the 5k race. Meeuf was followed by freshman
Caroline Sell in 10th, with a time of 19:36 and junior
Tessa Driehorst in 11th with a time of 19:47. On Tuesday, the Trojanettes clinched back-to-back section titles with a 20-43 win over Burrell in their meet at Shady Side Academy. After winning the section, the girls are clear front runners for the WPIAL.
The boy's cross-country team is having a successful year as well with a record of 6-3. They boys also competed at the Youthtowne Clash and finished 7th overall and 2nd among 2A teams. This was a great finish for the boys and hopefully some momentum to carry into the rest of the season. The Trojans were led by junior Tyler Carroll in 4th place with a personal best of 16:11, followed by freshman Jack Steineman who placed 28th with a personal best of 17:11 and finished 2nd among freshman in the race. At their meet on Tuesday. the Trojans defeated Burrell 18 to 45 which was a huge win to close out the regular season.
