North Catholic vs. Butler

Set 1:
The first set was won by Butler 25-19 and North took some positives from the first set and looked to bounce back.
Set 2/3/4:
North Catholic did indeed bounce back and won the second set 25-22 and the third 25-18 before falling in the fourth 24-26 and Butler forcing a fifth set.
Set 5:
The fifth set was a gritty set but North Catholic's defense prevailed and they won the set 15-12 and got a crucial section win. Even though the match was close a win is a win and section wins are even more important.
North Catholic vs. Seneca Valley

Set 1:
North and Seneca started the match back and forth until North took a lead behind huge blocks throughout the set by
Lauren Reitz and
Claire Beaman to get a 21-13 lead, causing Seneca to take a timeout.
Sienna Cozza in the set also with several setter dumps that led to a North Catholic win in set 1, 25-15.
Set 2:
North enters the second set carrying momentum and from the play of
Ella Koziara with key swings at the net and
Rebecca Feczko with amazing digs off heavy swings from Seneca. Staying in system allowed North to win 25-21.
Set 3:
At the start of the third set North jumped out to a 8-1 lead steered by the defense of
Josie Lorish and
Kaitlyn Maziarz and guided by the serving run by
Rebecca Feczko. Seneca then fought back into the set taking a 20-19 lead and eventually winning the set 27-25.
Set 4:
North entered the fourth set leading 2-1 needing one more set win to clinch the game. North faced a five-point deficit during the set but battled back and won 25-23 and the game 3-1. The match was a great team victory that takes North Catholic to 6-1 overall and 3-1 in section.
North Catholic vs. Holy Name

Set 1:
North and Holy Name (a school from the Cleveland area) went back and forth until a serving run by
Josie Lorish that gave North a four point lead of 12-8, causing a Holy Name timeout. The run continued after a few side outs by both sides and North claimed a 18-10 lead. From there North won the set 25-18.
Set 2:
Bianca Udrea started the set hot with two overpass kills, but as the set continued Holy Name took a 19-17 lead. Eventually, a hit into the net by Holy Name ended the set and North won 25-22 and took a commanding 2-0 lead in the match.
Set 3:
Camdynn Gonzalez began the third set with a monster block and two kills off the right side to give North a 10-8 lead. Spectacular digs by
Rebecca Feczko and
Ella Koziara gave North a 21-19 lead looking to finish the set. Holy Named answered and the set went tied 24-24. Going into extras North pulled off the win 27-25 and the match 3-0. The match in total was dominated by North Catholic's defense that led to transition opportunities on offense set up by assists from
Sienna Cozza.
