North Catholic vs. North Allegheny

Set 1:
North Catholic and North Allegheny enter into an important section match with North Allegheny being undefeated and North Catholic with one loss. North Catholic in the first set get down 10-15 then tie the game up at 16-16 then take the lead 20-17 behind offensive performances by
Ella Koziara and
Camdynn Gonzalez. North Allegheny would answer and take a 25-24 lead then 28-26 set one win.
Set 2:
North Allegheny took the momentum from the first set and jumped out to a 3-9 lead, then kept that lead throughout the set winning the second set 25-18 and gaining a 2-0 lead on North Catholic. North Catholic down 0-2 had to try and comeback by taking the good from the first two sets and build off of that in the next two.
Set 3:
North Catholic in the third set behind the defense from seniors
Rebecca Feczko,
Josie Lorish, and
Kaitlyn Maziarz lead for the majority of the set and won 25-22 and momentum swung back to the North Catholic side.
Set 4:
An early run by North Catholic gave them the lead of 8-4 and that continued throughout the match behind the play of
Sienna Cozza with setter dumps and being able to find her middles of
Claire Beaman and
Bianca Udrea. Though North Allegheny was able to respond to take a 22-20 lead, but North Catholic was able to pull off the win going into extras with the final score of the set being 29-27.
Set 5:
The fifth set with the game being tied 2-2, having a quick start would be pivotal for success in it. North Allegheny was able to do so taking a 9-2 lead and dominating the rest of the set to win 15-6 and stay undefeated on the season. North Catholic will get another shot at beating North Allegheny in the final match of the regular season at home October 17.
North Catholic vs. Upper Saint Clair

Set 1:
Both North Catholic and Upper Saint Clair come into the out of section match with the same record of 7-2. The first set was dominated by North Catholic winning 25-15 by the blocking from
Lauren Reitz and
Claire Beaman with the right-sides
Camdynn Gonzalez and
Sienna Cozza.
Set 2:
The second set was closer and Upper Saint Clair was able to get some success on offense, but the defense from
Josie Lorish and
Rebecca Feczko provided the support for
Ella Koziara and
Mikaila Measel to get kills on offense. That lead North Catholic to win 25-23 and take a 2-0 lead in the match.
Set 3:
Upper Saint Clair in the third set was able to show some grit and take the third set 25-20 and steal a set from North Catholic.
Set 4:
North Catholic in the fourth set behind the leadership of
Sienna Cozza, who was injured during the game but was able to come back in and play, made sure Upper Saint Clair did not win another set. North won the fourth set 25-23 and the match 3-1 with timely contributions by many players to get another big win.
