White Oak, PA - The Trojans and Trojanettes blazed through the prominent White Oak Park course at the TSTCA championships on Thursday, October 16, 2025. Both teams won the invitational, which is a first in school history! This meet was like a "test-run" for the crucial WPIAL championship meet next week.
The Trojanettes sprinted past their 2A competition beating 21 other teams with a low score of 35 points. The girls were led by seniors Madeline Meeuf and Sydney Dunn who placed 2nd and 6th. Following close behind was a pack of stellar sophomores in Annie Puhalla, Anna Morris, and Caroline Sell, stacking up at 8th, 9th, and 10th overall. Senior Tessa Driehorst also medaled at 18th place, showcasing the team's incredible depth. The Trojanettes are undeniably the best in the 2A WPIAL division, and they contend in serious talks for placing top 5 or better at states. But they must place top 3 at WPIALs next week first in order to secure that ticket to states which really should not be too much of an ask.
In recent years, it has been very easy to highlight the Trojanettes' incredible success and countless wins. However, slowly but steadily in the shadows, a dominant Trojans cross country team has been in construction, and the final draft looks ready to go. They have finally stepped into the spotlight for some glory of their own. The boys matched the girls victory on Thursday, beating the next team by over 30 points. The Jack squared duo, sophomores Jack Steineman and Jack Davison, made their long-awaited returns to the team after 26 days raceless, prolonged by injuries. Medaling, Steineman captured a quick 2nd place finish, followed by Tyler Carroll's 6th place. Next, an army of Trojans, Victor Wagner, Jacob Birchok, and Gavin Bartus, clinched gold. Wagner, Birchok, and Davison all set personal records. The boys look forward to a face-off against Quaker Valley, who was not at the TSTCA Invitational, for 1st place at WPIALs.
Both teams cannot bear the wait for the WPIAL race on Thursday, October 24, 2025. After the Trojans and Trojanettes both won the same Invitational for the first time ever, it is pretty safe to say it would be a highly regarded first if both were to win the WPIAL championship for 2A. In addition, Steineman and Carroll work to reset the record books once again for fastest 5k time in school history. Steineman recently broke this record at the same White Oak Park course earlier this season with a ridiculous time clocked at 15:33. The girls also have a chance to set a school record in least points scored in a WPIAL championship, due to their amazing depth and talented squad.
