Cranberry Twp, PA - On Tuesday, September 16, 2025, the North Catholic Cross Country team celebrated Senior Night at their home course on Chatham's Eden Hall campus. They faced off against the short-handed JV teams from Shadyside Academy for effortless victories for both NC teams. It was a fantastic night, highlighting the seniors' success throughout their tenures with North Catholic Cross Country. The senior class of 2026 includes Tyler Carroll, Tessa Driehorst, Sydney Dunn, Jacob Hauser, Madeline Meeuf, and Hannah Parker. The team, coaches, family, and friends wish them all the best as they take another huge stride in life, deciding which college to attend.

With these tremendous seniors inevitably leaving, the Trojans and Trojanettes must have a plan for the future of the team. Lucky for them, the foundation of the team is already there and was showcased at the PIAA Foundation Meet in Hershey, PA on Saturday, September 20, 2025. This is the same, challenging course that they will race on in November, assuming both teams earn bids to states.

The Trojanettes showed the state what they're worth, earning 3rd place as a team out of 28 teams and 199 total runners in 2A. They had a confident lead over the 4th place team, and the top five runners for the Trojanettes all finished within an incredible 58 seconds of each other. The top five Trojanettes included Caroline Sell (who medaled in 13th place), Sydney Dunn (who just missed medaling by one place), Anna Morris, Maggie Killian, and Madeline Meeuf. Out of the those five, Sell, Morris, and Killian are all sophomores, as well as Ava Sparacino and Kendall Stewart who placed 6th and 7th on the team's depth chart. Clearly, they are set up for success for the foreseeable future. While the girls would have preferred a 1st or 2nd podium finish, they had to settle for 3rd. They can use this as motivation for future meets with increasingly difficult competition.

On the boys' side, the Trojans clashed with 30 teams in the 2A race flooded with 240 runners. Sophomore phenom, Jack Steineman, led the Trojans, finishing 2nd overall and was interviewed by a representative from PA MileSplit after the race. Not too far behind, Tyler Carroll placed 7th in the loaded field. Rounding out the scoring five was Jack Davison, Brandon Szuch, and Gavin Bartus. Jacob Birchok and Victor Wagner finished close behind. Six out of those seven athletes are all either sophomores or juniors, proving that the future is bright for the Trojans. Collectively, the team secured 7th place (2nd among WPIAL teams), closing in on 5th place WPIAL rival, Quaker Valley.

Both teams were happy with their performances and are looking forward to some easier courses in the upcoming weeks. They will be remarkably busy with three meets in the span of only six days. The races comprise of the Youthtowne Clash Invitational, Section Championships at Hartwood Acres Park, and the Paul Short Invitational at Lehigh University.
