Cranberry Twp, PA - Fresh off capturing the program's first-ever WPIAL Boys AA Championship last spring—capped by a decisive 4–1 victory over Valley in the 2025 finals—the North Catholic boys tennis team enters the new season with momentum, experience, and high expectations.
The Trojans return four starters from last year's historic title run, giving them one of the most seasoned lineups in Class AA. At the top, senior standouts Justin Garvey and Alex Weber once again anchor the singles courts. The veteran duo brings reliability, leadership, and years of postseason experience, setting the competitive tone for the entire roster.
Joining them are sophomores Jake Sinclair and Paddy McCabe, who made an immediate impact as freshmen. Their impressive debut season included a trip to the WPIAL Doubles Quarterfinals, and the pair looks poised to take another leap forward in year two.
North Catholic's schedule features several key early-season tests, including challenging non-section home matches in March against Blackhawk and Mount Lebanon, both known for producing strong tennis programs. Once section play begins, the Trojans will once again face their perennial rivals Hampton and Quaker Valley—matchups that will likely determine whether North Catholic can claim its fifth straight section championship.
Beyond section and WPIAL wins, the team also aims to extend a remarkable program streak: six consecutive PIAA state playoff appearances, the longest active run in the WPIAL. With championship experience and a deep returning core, the Trojans enter the 2026 campaign confident and prepared to add another chapter to their rapidly growing tennis legacy.
