Cranberry Twp, PA - The North Catholic Boys Soccer Team started their season off with matches against Deer Lakes and Highlands. On Tuesday, August 27, the boys fell short to Deer Lakes 0-1 after a first half lone goal by the Lancers and the Trojans unsuccessful attempt to find an equalizer in the second.
On Thursday, August 29, the outcome was in the Trojan's favor as they won 6-0 against Highlands. In the first half, the goals were scored by
Justin Garvey (1),
Arthur Mendonca (1), and
Angelo Amelio (2). The assists for the Trojans, in the first half, were made by
Arthur Mendonca,
Brody Kennedy,
Justin Garvey, and Michael Riely. Followed by the second half, the Trojans goals were scored by
Angelo Amelio and
Justin Garvey with assists from
Jackson Schlegel and
Arthur Mendonca. Notable performances by the backline and goalkeepers
Drew Schedlbauer and
Dylan Shantz for the shutout along with
Angelo Amelio for a hat trick.
