Baseball Shows Offensive Firepower Against Hopewell
Baseball battled Hopewell twice during the week, showing flashes of strong offensive production despite difficult results.
In the April 7 matchup, the Trojans fell 15–9, but not before turning in a strong day at the plate. Luka Guzowski doubled and drove in a run while drawing two walks, Evan Erdeljac collected two hits and three RBIs, and Dominic Mosby added a triple with two RBIs. Softball delivered another impressive week, posting three victories behind dominant pitching and explosive offense.
On April 8, the Trojanettes defeated Beaver 6–3 at Valencia SportsPark. Kennedy Brown was outstanding in the circle, striking out 15 batters in a complete-game effort. Offensively, Brown and Mary Kotwica each collected two hits, while Clare Kotwica helped spark early scoring to set the tone.
The following day, NC rolled to a 10–0 shutout of Western Beaver, this time powered by Clare Kotwica's dominant pitching performance. Kotwica struck out 15 batters over six scoreless innings while the Trojanettes piled up 12 hits and played error-free defense.
The week concluded with a 21–7 comeback victory over Ambridge. Dakota Hicks led the charge with four RBIs on five doubles, while NC erupted for 17 runs across the fourth and fifth innings to turn the game decisively in their favor. The Trojanettes finished with 18 hits in one of their most complete offensive performances of the season.
Track Teams Sweep Burrell
Both North Catholic track teams turned in dominant performances at Burrell on April 8.
The girls team won decisively, 107–43, while the boys followed with a 99–46 victory, continuing a strong spring for the track program as both squads displayed depth across multiple events.
Flag Football Rolls Past Deer Lakes
The Trojanettes delivered a convincing 34–6 win over Deer Lakes on April 9.
Lizzie Fabian was the story of the night, scoring three different ways—receiving, rushing, and returning an interception for a touchdown. Gabby Valentine threw three scoring passes, and the Trojan defense added multiple sacks to cap a dominant performance on both sides of the ball.
Boys Volleyball Sweeps Mars
Boys volleyball bounced back in emphatic fashion on April 9, sweeping Mars 3–0 by scores of 25-14, 25-23, and 25-13. The Trojans controlled the match throughout, with particularly strong showings in the opening and closing sets to secure the victory.
Boys Tennis Competes in Tight Match with Seneca Valley
North Catholic boys tennis pushed Seneca Valley before narrowly falling 3–2 on April 10.
Justin Garvey earned a straight-set win at first singles, while Paddy McCabe picked up another singles victory. Both doubles matches went deep, including a dramatic three-set tiebreaker at first doubles, underscoring the match's competitive nature.
