Cranberry Twp, PA - NC athletics proudly celebrated its student-athletes during Athletic Signing Day, honoring years of dedication, discipline, and leadership as seven student-athletes officially committed to continue their academic and athletic careers at the collegiate level.
The ceremony recognized not only athletic excellence, but the balance each student-athlete maintained between academics, competition, and character. Representing a wide range of sports and colleges, this group reflects the very best of North Catholic athletics.
Sport: Flag Football
College: Mercyhurst University
A true multi-sport standout, Lizzie Fabian leaves North Catholic with an extraordinary résumé. She helped the girls golf team capture a WPIAL Championship and finished seventh individually at the state level. Lizzie also led the girls flag football team to the playoffs and competed at an elite level in hockey, placing fifth at Nationals with her AA travel team and finishing as runner-up in the 2024 PIHL Girls High School Hockey League.
At Mercyhurst University, Lizzie will continue her athletic career as a member of the ACHA Women's Hockey team, adding another chapter to an already impressive journey.

College: Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI)
One of the most accomplished distance runners in school history, Tyler Carroll consistently performed at the highest levels of competition. He is a three-time WPIAL medalist, five-time PIAA qualifier, and two-time PIAA medalist. Tyler also earned Cross Country All-State Second Team honors, cementing his legacy within the North Catholic running program.
Tyler will take his talents to RPI, where he will continue to excel both academically and athletically.

College: Virginia Tech
A cornerstone of the North Catholic volleyball program, Camdynn Gonzalez leaves behind a legacy of leadership and competitiveness. A two-time WPIAL runner-up and 2025 team captain, Camdynn was known for her composure, toughness, and relentless competitive fire.
She will continue her volleyball career at Virginia Tech, representing North Catholic on one of the nation's biggest collegiate stages.
Jason Fredericks
Sport: Boys Basketball
College: Franciscan University
Jason Fredericks delivered one of the most decorated basketball careers in North Catholic history. A 1,000-point scorer, Jason earned multiple honors including two-time Butler Eagle All-Star, two-time First Team 4A All-Section, two-time First Team 4A All-WPIAL, and was named the 2026 4A Player of the Year.
He will continue his basketball journey at Franciscan University, bringing experience, scoring ability, and leadership to the next level.
Nico Simakas
Sport: Soccer
College: Duquesne University
Nico Simakas has been a fixture in elite soccer circles for over a decade. A 12-year member of Beadling Soccer Club, Nico captained the Beadling MLS Next U19 team and competed in MLS Next for five years, including two MLS Next Flex Qualifier appearances.
His commitment to Duquesne University marks the next step in a highly competitive and disciplined soccer career.

Nick Franco's impact on the North Catholic football program stretched far beyond the stat sheet. A four-year varsity linebacker and team captain, Nick exemplified toughness, leadership, and consistency throughout his high school career.
He will take those traits with him to St. Vincent College as he continues to grow both on and off the field.

A four-year varsity contributor, Landon Walker lettered as a freshman and became a three-year starter for the Trojans. His commitment and development over his high school career earned him the opportunity to continue competing at Mercyhurst University.
Landon's work ethic and durability were hallmarks of his time at North Catholic.
