On Friday, April 22, and Saturday, April 23, the Butler Track and Field Invitational was held at Butler High School. The meet is one of the largest invitationals of the season, with over 60 teams competing. On Friday, the girls ran and the boys ran on Saturday.
Friday produced great results for our girls. Many achieved personal records in their events. Most notably, senior Tehya Dave placed 2nd overall in the 100m dash with a time of 12.84.
On Saturday, the boys also broke personal records, as well as school and meet records. In the 100m dash, Senior Trevor Paschall placed 1st overall with a time of 10.74. Not only was this time his personal best, but he also set a meet record with the time, breaking the previous record of 10.84. Following the 100m dash, Paschall also placed 1st in the 200m dash.
Additionally, senior Luke Mager medaled in the 200 placing 5th. The boys relay teams also had a successful day, placing 4th in the 4x100 and 8th in the 4x800.
Overall, both the boys and girls teams had a successful weekend, and are now looking ahead to their next major meets. On Thursday, April 28, the Butler 9th/10th Invitational will take place at Butler High School. On Friday, April 29, the teams will compete in the Mars Invitational at Mars Area High School.
